Poet, dance writer, and retired psychologist Janet Eigner composes free verse poems that explore themes of family, community, and the earth and its war-wounds. She is the author of the chapbook Cornstalk Mother (2009), and her work has been featured in “American Life in Poetry,” the syndicated newspaper column of former US poet laureate Ted Kooser, as well as in the anthology Earthships: A New Mecca Poetry Collection (2007). Her first full-length poetry book, What Lasts Is The Breath (Black Swan Editions), was awarded a New Mexico-Arizona Book Award in 2013. She lives in the Santa Fe area.
