Jumping the Snark

R. Kikuo Johnson's graphic cover version of "Recitative" (by Harriet's own A.E. Stallings) appeared recently as part of this site's "Poem as Comic Strip" series. One of the commenters, Mahendra Singh, included a link...

It's wonderful stuff, and comes with equally gleeful annotations. He analyzes one of his panels: "Some nice bits of Sir John Tenniel, a juicy morsel of Dora Maar (with a succulent Alfred Jarry center) and all of it garnished with the abraded glyphs of Oysters à la Alberto Savinio!" http://justtheplaceforasnark.blogspot.com/

The cartoon came as a huge surprise--I am just as tickled as I could be by it.

The surreal Hunting of the Snark illustrations are fantastic--in all senses of that word!
