Hellos, Goodbyes, and a HiatusIn case you missed Daisy Fried's sign off from Harriet, it’s here, at the bottom of one of her wonderful dispatches from Paris. We’re going to miss her quips and critiques, and her exploits with Maisie and Jim. Do you know anyone else who has read Tristam Shandy out loud? Invented the new American classic Moby Dickinson? Or spoken about capitalism crumbling and offered a recipe for foie gras in one post? Our newer bloggers are also ranging far.... ....from typical literary haunts--both real and imagined. You can read how Linh Dinh survived deep-fried mac and cheese in Missoula, Montana; the secrets and historical oddities that D. A. Powell is unearthing in Memphis and Nashville; and the windows Ada Limon suggests jumping out of and the books she suggest jumping into. We’ve meant to welcome all of them to Harriet before this! (You can read their bios and see what they look like, here.) On a more serious note, Reginald Shepherd asked me to let everyone know why he hasn’t been posting lately; he’s been very ill and in the hospital for over a month. He is now on the mend--in fact, he's on his way home as I type this! He's hoping to start posting on Harriet soon. If you’d like to send him a note, email us at editors@poetryfoundation.org and we’ll make sure it gets to him. Comments |
