We'll take Thurston Moore's Flowers & Cream, please

How about some good news coming from Thurston Moore? (We're super sad, too.) New dawn: Moore has teamed up with poet and songwriter Elaine Kahn to make our wildest poetry publishing dreams come true! Called Flowers & Cream, the new press's first baby--already out--is The Strings of Walnetto Arrangements, by poet and The Song Cave co-editor Ben Estes. Forthcoming titles include a collaborative book from Anselm Berrigan and John Coletti and a new title from Dana Ward (that's some brilliant testosterone). The press hopes to publish, at the very least, four titles annually. More on Moore's endeavor:

Flowers & Cream is a small press / independent POETRY publishing imprint founded by Sonic Youth songwriter Thurston Moore. The press aims to feature work of young, emerging poets steeped in contemporary poetic practice and investigation/illumination.

The books will be a uniform series of silver dressed card covers with consistent cut size and interior printing, all perfect-bound and manufactured utilizing local book designers and binders from the environs of Western Massachusetts. Each edition will be in a run of 200 copies with 50 numbered and signed by the author and 26 lettered and signed by the author and editor....

Living betwixt Northampton, Massachusetts and New York City, Thurston Moore has been involved with editing the Ecstatic Peace Poetry Journal since early 2000. His own verse has been published in various anthologies and by a number of imprints since Water Row Press first presented Alabama Wildman, a collection of scattered writings from the 1970s and 80s. He has been on faculty at the Summer Writing Program at Naropa University.
