Ted Mathys Reads From His Newest Collection, Null Set

At PBS News Hour, St. Louis-based poet Ted Mathys "contemplates fatherhood in a hotel room" (or at least, this featured poem does!). Mathys's third book, Null Set (Coffee House Press 2015), is said to be "a collection of cultured, emotionally vulnerable poems in which he seeks meaning within the bounds of the absolute while simultaneously reaching toward the unknowable, even via negation and denial" (that's a starred Publisher's Weekly review for you!). He read his poem “Artifact Hotel” at the 2015 AWP Conference and Bookfair in Minneapolis. Video below, and full text at PBS!
