Sage U'ilani Takehiro

Sage U'ilani Takehiro is a Hawaiian writer from Hilo, Hawaii, and author of the poetry collection Honua (2007). She earned a BA in English and political science and an MA in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where she won a Myrle Clark Award and an Ernest Hemingway Undergraduate Award in creative writing. Takehiro is a political activist, a community supporter, and a lover of the natural environment. Her work has been published in many journals in Hawaii and the Pacific.
