Announcing PoetryNow!!
Today we released the first episode of PoetryNow, a new 5 minute podcast and radio broadcast created in partnership with the Poetry Foundation and WFMT in Chicago, featuring poets reading and talking about a new poem. We're kicking off the series with a poem by Jericho Brown (one of this month's bloggers here on Harriet!). We'll be releasing a new episode two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays through our Poem of the Day subscription, and the episodes will be broadcast on radio stations throughout the country and internationally.
Many hands helped create this program. From the Poetry Foundation I'd like to thank Robert Polito, Elizabeth Burke-Dain, Micah Jefferson, Karl Saffran, and Adam Fitzgerald, who contributed vital editorial insight and assistance. At WFMT I'd like to thank Tony Macaluso, Steve Robinson, Heather McDougall, Paloma Orozco, and the audio producers David Schulman, Sara Murphy, and Colin McNulty. And then, of course, I'd like to thank all the poets who contributed to this first round of PoetryNow, which will run from April through the end of June.
Head here to listen to Jericho read his new poem "Herman Finley," then head here to sign up for Poem of the Day. You can also follow PoetryNow on Twitter here.
