New Application Timelines: Fellowship and Criticism Award
Updates to the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships and the Pegasus Award for Poetry Criticism Application Process
Each year, the Poetry Foundation awards five Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships, $27,000 prizes intended to support exceptional United States poets between 21 and 31 years of age. It also awards one Pegasus Award for Poetry Criticism, a $10,000 prize that seeks to honor an outstanding book-length work of criticism published in the United States in the prior calendar year.
Beginning in 2025, the Poetry Foundation is changing the application timeline for these awards. Additionally, Fellowship applicants who turn 21 or are 31 years old at any time in 2025 are eligible to apply.
New Application Dates:
- Applications open: Wednesday, January 15, 2025
- Application deadline: Monday, March 3, 2025
