Thank You: A Free Digital Issue of Poetry Collects Poems of Gratitude
BY The Editors
“You keep / Putting your hand on my shoulder / When I'm crying. / Thank you for that,” writes Mary Jo Bang in “You Were You Are Elegy.” No matter how difficult the year, there are always small things to be grateful for. To celebrate this fact, the editors of Poetry created a free digital issue in the Poetry magazine app to say “thank you.” Inside you’ll find 15 poems about thankfulness, praise, and gratitude from recent issues of the magazine, including poems by Fatimah Asghar, Eric Gansworth, Harmony Holiday, Ilya Kaminsky, Nate Marshall, Linda Pastan, Jamila Woods, Dean Young, Javier Zamora, and many others.
To read this special selected issue, download the Poetry magazine app in iTunes, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore and select the free Thank You issue.
We’re thankful for you, dear readers. To show our thanks, we have a special gift offer for you: Buy One, Gift One. For a limited time, you can buy yourself a one-year subscription to Poetry for $35 and gift a second subscription for free! That’s 11 book-length issues filled with more poems like these. Think of it as an extra little thank you delivered to your mailbox every month.
Gratefully,
The Editors
