Rush Hour Concert: Richie Hofmann & Ensemble Dal Niente: New Music, New Poetry
65 East Huron Street
Free Admission
Rush Hour Concerts exists to provide “great music for busy lives” free of charge every Tuesday evening, June through August in historic St. James Cathedral in downtown Chicago.
Richie Hofmann is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Prize and the AWP Intro Journal Award for Poetry. He is pursuing an MFA in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
Ensemble Dal Niente is a Chicago-based contemporary music collective that presents and performs new music in ways that redefine the listening experience and advance the art form. The ensemble's name, Dal Niente ("from nothing" in Italian), is a tribute to Helmut Lachenmann's Dal niente (Interieur III), the revolutionary style of which serves as an inspiration for its musicians. Their programming, brought to life by a flexible repertoire-based instrumentation, seeks to challenge convention and create engaging, inspiring, and immersive experiences which connect audiences with the music of today.
