Second Annual Chicago Poetry Block Party

Poetry Foundation, Crescendo Literary, and the National Museum of Mexican Art host the Chicago Poetry Block Party, a festival of poetry, music, art, and community on 19th Street and Wolcott Avenue in Pilsen. Guests of all ages can participate in writing workshops, visual art activities, games, and a dance party, enjoy poetry readings and musical performances, and take home free books and journals. 

Performers include Eve Ewing, Nate Marshall, The Happiness Club, Chicago Mariachi Project, Jarochicanos, You Are Here, Kaina and Akenya. Hosted by Jasmine Alexandria Barber.

Performers and community partners include: Open Books, CHECK/UIC Health, UIC Latino Cultural Center, Contratiempo, Chicago Public Library, Pilsen Alliance,Organized Communities Against Deportations, Chicago Votes, For the People Artists Collective, The Floating Museum, Yollocalli Arts Reach, Little Village Environmental Justice Organization,Young Chicago Authors, and Los Paleteros PR.
