Teachers! Special Performances for Your Students to Attend No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks
Benito Juarez Community Academy
1450 West Cermak Road
A special invitation for Chicago and suburban teachers to bring their 6–12th-grade classes to four special performances of No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks.
No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks, the collaborative celebration of one of Chicago’s most iconic literary figures, returns to the stage. Commissioned by the Poetry Foundation and written by Chicago poets Eve L. Ewing and Nate Marshall, No Blue Memories brings to life the story of the Pulitzer Prize winner, treasured educator, and mentor to the countless writers and children who knew her as their very own “Miss Brooks.” The music, inspired by Brooks’ work, was composed and arranged by Jamila Woods and Ayanna Woods.
