Poetry & Music: Collaborative Works Festival: The Wayfarer

Explore song cycles that tell the stories of wanderers or travelers. Enjoy performances of Ralph Vaughan Williams’s cycle of poems from Robert Louis Stevenson’s book Songs of Travel and Other Verses and Gustav Mahler’s iconic cycle, Songs of a Wayfarer. This event also features the midwestern premiere of a new cycle by composer Missy Mazzoli, Songs from the Operas. Featured performers include mezzo- soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano, baritone Tyler Duncan, pianist Erika Switzer, and Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago cofounders Nicholas Phan and Shannon McGinnis.
