Join us for an evening of Korean poetry in translation with one of the most influential contemporary poets of South Korea, Kim Hyesoon, as translated by Don Mee Choi. Kim is among the first female poets to receive the prestigious Midang Literary Award, and her work is translated into many languages, including Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Swedish. Don Mee Choi, the Whiting Award–winning author of The Morning News Is Exciting and Hardly War, translated several of Kim’s collections, including I’m OK, I’m Pig! and Poor Love Machine. The event include readings from Daniel Borzutzky, Rachel Galvin, Johannes Göransson, and Joyelle McSweeney.
