Poetry & Music: The Modern Salon

Explore a salon brought into the 21st century with Chicago-based artist and organizer Theaster Gates. The GRAMMY-nominated Spektral Quartet will spotlight some of the city’s most charismatic creatives in music, poetry, dance, and visual art in an environment that draws voices and traditions into dynamic conversation. The salon will include work by poet and songwriter avery r. young, former Chicago Symphony composer-in-residence Samuel Adams, the Black Monks of Mississippi, Alyssa Martinez, Kim Alpert, The Era and a musical performance by 2018 Guggenheim fellow Tonia Ko.
