Celebrate National Poetry Month at the Chicago Public Library with Tracy K. Smith, the 22nd US poet laureate. She has published three collections, including Wade in the Water, the 2012 Pulitzer Prize–winning Life on Mars, and the critically acclaimed memoir Ordinary Light. Her honors include a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award, an Academy of American Poets Fellowship, and a Cave Canem Poetry Prize. Smith is the Roger S. Berlind ’52 Professor in the Humanities, and director of the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University. She hosts the weekday poetry podcast The Slowdown.
