The Lushness of Print: Samiya Bashir & Letra Chueca Press Exhibition Opening

Celebrate the opening of The Lushness of Print, featuring the ekphrastic partnership between Samiya Bashir’s Poetry Salon and Letra Chueca Press, a woman- and Latinx-owned printing press that uses traditional machines and techniques. The press was cofounded by Camila Araya and Daniela del Mar, whose vision is to operate a sustainable, multicultural space dedicated to the craft of printing that empowers underrepresented communities. The event will feature a talk and walk-through of the exhibition with Bashir and del Mar. Afterward, del Mar will demonstrate the use of a letterpress, and guests will be welcome to print and take home a broadside commemorating the exhibition opening.
