Celebrate Walt Whitman’s 200th birthday with the world premiere screening of Multitudes, created in partnership by the Poetry Foundation and Manual Cinema! This short explores eight segments of Whitman’s central poem, Song of Myself, featuring readings by three contemporary poets—Kaveh Akbar, Duriel E. Harris, and Yusef Komunyakaa—and innovative puppetry by Manual Cinema.

In the spirit of the film, Duriel E. Harris reads Whitman-influenced poetry live before the screening of Multitudes. Following the screening of Multitudes, guests are welcome to have a first-hand look at some of the puppets and set pieces created by Manual Cinema.

Doors open at 7:00 PM; program begins at 7:30 PM sharp.
