Join us for a joint book launch of Everything Must Go and Can I Kick It?, featuring Chicago poet and editor Kevin Coval and award-winning BreakBeat poet and playwright Idris Goodwin. Coval is the author of 10 books, including A People’s History of Chicago; coeditor of The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop; and artistic director of Young Chicago Authors. Goodwin is a poet, a playwright, and the author of the Pushcart Prize-nominated essay and poetry collection These Are the Breaks; his chapbook Inauguration won the 2017 Literary Arts Award from the Pikes Peak Arts Council. Coval and Goodwin cowrote the play This Is Modern Art. There will be an ASL interpreter at this event.
