Experience the world premiere of Always Already, a composition for voice, fixed electronics, keyboards and marimba by Ben Vida; Vida is joined by soprano Nina Dante and the ensemble Yarn/Wire. Vida’s hypnotic work examines the materiality of language through repetition and variation, inspired by the text-sourcing methods of the conceptual writing movement and the rhythmical essays of Gertrude Stein. Dante has worked with Vida on several projects and is the cofounder of Fonema Consort. Yarn/ Wire is a celebrated percussion and piano quartet that includes Ian Antonio, Russell Greenberg, Laura Barger, and Ning Yu.
