Join us for a virtual poetry reading with Arab American Book Award– winning poet Dunya Mikhail. Her collections include In Her Feminine Sign; The Beekeeper: Rescuing the Stolen Women of Iraq, longlisted for the 2018 National Book Award for translated literature; and The War Works Hard, shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize and named one of the New York Public Library's "25 Books to Remember from 2005." Her honors include a Kresge Artist Fellowship and a United Nations Human Rights Award for Freedom of Writing. She is a cofounder of the Mesopotamian Forum for Art and Culture in Michigan and works as an Arabic special lecturer at Oakland University.
