All are welcome to a poetry discussion and creative writing workshop, “Borrowing Back into the Body,” created and led by Krishan Mistry.

“In this session, we will explore “borrowing” by investigating not just “sampling” in music, but also the idea of “found text” in poetry and the notion of “collage film” in video.”  We will subsequently conduct a group activity in which we construct and work from a unique“sample pack” as a way to activate our own writing practices.

Krishan Mistry is a writer and electronic musician based in Brooklyn, NY. His work activates various forms of “borrowing” as a means to explore diaspora and cultural hybridity. He likes driving very far to buy things off Craigslist. He does not like it when two people order the same thing at a restaurant.

Registration is required; space is limited. To register, email [email protected] with the date and time of the session you would like to attend. This program is for adult participants, aged 18 and up.
