Workshops & Discussions

Forms & Features with Hannah Treasure

At Capacity
| 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

This generative workshop engages with lyrical voices in unlikely places: Google searches and product reviews. We will read several poems that utilize found or overheard language, and create our own poetry based on internet searching activities we will conduct during the workshop.

Through the discussion of the readings and the creation of individual writing using collaging methods, we will think critically about the language we encounter every day in public forums. We will contemplate how Google’s most popular searches reveal what we are afraid to ask for aloud and how spaces meant only for assessing a purchase are filled with breaches of human experience.

This workshop is for participants aged 18 and older, of all backgrounds and experiences with reading and writing poetry.
