Forms & Features: Poetry is Not a Luxury

This workshop led by Maggie Queeney investigates the power of poetry in the world. In conversation with Audre Lorde’s vital essay, “Poetry is Not a Luxury,” we will take time to articulate our individual reasons for reading and writing poetry and to dream new futures through our practices and words.

Participants will read and discuss a wide variety of texts and poems before composing poems of their own.

• This workshop is for adult participants, aged 18 and older, of all backgrounds and experiences with reading and writing poetry. 
• We offer several sessions.
