Gwendolyn Brooks was the first Black person to win a Pulitzer Prize for her poetry collection, Annie Allen. Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Annie Allen with an evening of multidisciplinary art and performances! Poets Angela Jackson, Adrian Matejka, Patricia Smith, and avery r. young will be joined by hip hop artist Linda Sol, jazz musician Billy Branch, dancers, and Bronzeville Historical Society’s archival imagery related to Annie Allen. Artists will perform their unique interpretations of content and themes from Annie Allen.

  • Reception and booksigning from 6-7 PM
  • Doors open for seating at 6:30 PM
  • Performances begin at 7 PM
