Chicago theater veteran Beau O’Reilly, the author of over 75 plays, celebrates his 60th birthday and the 25th anniversary of the Rhinoceros Theater Festival with the premiere of his own 60 Story Animal. An investigation of the theatrical work and poetry of Samuel Beckett, 60 Story Animal adapts text from Rockaby, Texts for Nothing, and some of Beckett’s poems. Performed with Judith Harding and music by Jenny Magnus and premiering at the Poetry Foundation, 60 Story Animal will move to various theaters throughout Chicago (Prop Thtr, the side project, Center Portion) with guests like Kelly Ann Corcoran, Ann Calcagno and David Isaacson.
