Poetry in America: Walt Whitman

Delve into the poetic verse of Walt Whitman in the lively discussion "Poetry in America: Whitman," led by Harvard Professor Elisa New. This lecture is part of a free, four-week Harvard edX online course module of the same name starting January 15, 2014. Guests of the lecture are encouraged (but not required) to enroll in the four-week course by signing up online. New will discuss Whitman's "I Sing the Body Electric" (in particular sections 7 and 9) and "Still Do I Keep My Look, My Identity..." by Gwendolyn Brooks.

Professor Elisa New is the Powell M. Cabot Professor of American Literature at Harvard University. New's event at the Poetry Foundation is a wonderful opportunity to gather and discuss this significant American poet and his works.
