Lucy Ives holds degrees from Harvard and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is the author of Orange Roses, Anamnesis, and the “brief novel” Nineties. Ives is a deputy editor at Triple Canopy and lives in New York City, where she is completing a PhD in comparative literature at New York University. Ives’s talk will center on the subject of “disingenuity,“ or literary falsehood, and the roles of minor exaggeration, preening,
bragging, white lies, swagger, and myth in the construction of the figure of the
contemporary author.
