Las Chavas: Poetry and Film from Honduras featuring Richard Blanco, Brad Coley, & Cheryl Chapman

Join Richard Blanco, the fifth inaugural poet of the United States; Brad Coley, director of the forthcoming documentary Las Chavas about Our Little Roses, the only all-girl orphanage in Honduras; and Cheryl Chapman, executive director of Our Little Roses Foreign Mission Society, Miami, FL, for an evening of poetry and film at the Poetry Foundation. This event is held in conjunction with the publication of 12 love poems written by the residents of Our Little Roses, edited by Blanco and poet Spencer Reece, which will appear in the January 2015 issue of Poetry magazine. The program features a reading and a screening of an excerpt from the documentary about the lives and work of Our Little Roses.
