Belladonna's August Ideal + Contribute to Celebratory Folio for Theory, A Sunday!

Just the other weekday, we were waxing most positive about Theory, A Sunday--now's your chance to respond. If you haven't seen this already: Lemon Hound is asking for 300-800 words on the way this work may have affected you. An important call, so we thought we'd note it. Submit! More info below:

In celebration of Quebec’s diverse writing by women, we’re putting a celebratory folio together for the fall that captures the impact that La Théorie, un dimanche (remue-ménage, 1988) and its recent translation Theory, A Sunday (Belladonna*, 2013) has had since its initial publication in the eighties.

We invite you to submit 300-800* words in any genre telling us how this collaborative feminist text has impacted you. Deadline is September 1st. We look forward to hearing from you!

Also: Belladonna* is offering the book at a discount, should you be starting a reading group:

In the spirit of making feminist experimental writing space and language theory, with the intention to spawn and germinate groups focusing on such making and doing as feminists, we are offering the following to groups who want to read Theory, A Sunday and do or make something with it: WE WILL SEND YOU COPIES OF THE BOOK AT LOWER THAN COST.

Here are the specifics:

• If you and someone you know are deciding to meet weekly or monthly or bi-annually OR…, please write to us, tell us how many you are, and we’ll send you as many copies as you need (in one shipment) at $6.00 per book. That’s less than the cost of production and postage!

• You conduct your group how you do. Of course, if you’d like our help, we’re here for you.

• And we’d love for you to send us potential and eventual writings or performances or art that come out of your groups, and we can put it on our social media channels and promote it to the world. In fact, if you already have such writings there is a call from Lemon Hound to hear from you.
