C'est la Ville!: Urban Voices from Paris and Chicago

This past fall during Open House Chicago, the Poetry Foundation and La Maison de la Poésie collaborated on an audio installation that brought together 6 poets from Paris and Chicago, respectively. Silvain Gire and Samuel Hirsch from ARTE Radio in Paris combined found sounds of the two cities together with the poetry of Oxmo Puccino, Kacem Wapalek, and L from Paris, and Kush Thompson, Jacob Saenz, and Kristiana Rae Colón from Chicago. Listen below to this collage of voices that emerge from the soundscapes of Chicago and Paris like oral graffiti on the urban landscape.
