Watch the Trailer for The Book of Conrad
Coming soon: Deliquent Films' The Book of Conrad, a long-awaited feature documentary about our friend, poet CAConrad, who, over 82 scenic minutes, "confronts his violent past and the suspicious death of his boyfriend, Earth."
The film attempts to unravel the mystery of Earth's death, while Conrad wrestles with his inner demons through a series of unconventional rituals and a tour of the deep South.
CAConrad is an award winning poet, the self-described "son of white trash asphyxiation, (who spent his) childhood selling cut flowers along the highways for his mother, and helping her shoplift." He is the author of several books of poetry, including 'The Book of Frank', 'Advanced Elvis Course', 'A Beautiful Marsupial Afternoon', and the newly released 'ECODEVIANCE: (Soma)tics for the Future Wilderness' (Wave Books 2014).
Conrad mentions the film in a 2013 piece at PEN and in an interview for Naropa's Bombay Gin. "Two filmmakers from Delinquent Films are making a documentary about me, and they went back to where I grew up to interview my father. I think they were wondering if I was exaggerating the details of this bigoted little town."
And of course you know Conrad was Harriet's Featured blogger last month. He addresses Earth's murder and his attempts at confronting Tennessee authorities in "The Queer Voice: Reparative Poetry Rituals & Glitter Perversions." And of course there's this classic interview with Eileen Myles where Conrad discusses, among other things, his tumultuous youth.
Head to Delinquent Films to watch the trailer. We can't wait for this one!
