The Mountain Fold Books 200 Poets & Artists @ $10 Challenge
Dear Poets & Artists,
Good things do happen in Colorado Springs. Mountain Fold Books is conducting a 200 POETS AND ARTISTS @ $10 CHALLENGE. Mountain Folds--the best non-profit bookshop and regional hub for arts and literature in the Pikes Peak area, if you hadn't heard--needs 200 poets and artists to give $10 each for a total of $2,000 to help Mountain Fold Books toward a $20,000 goal. More on this venture:
This December, Mountain Fold Books is part of a spirited year-end giving campaign called IndyGive! which is sponsored by our local newsweekly, The Colorado Springs Independent. Along with many nonprofit organizations in the Pikes Peak region, we're participating in friendly competition through December 31. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our general operations budget, which would help us keep the doors open and support literary culture in Colorado Springs for years to come.
Here’s the kicker: if we reach this $20,000 goal by midnight on December 31, we will receive an extra $5,000 from the Kathy Loo Fund of Pikes Peak Community Foundation. All told, we've already raised almost $9,000. Despite being the smallest organization of all 88 participants in IndyGive, Mountain Fold Books already won a jumpstart challenge for the largest number of early donors and will receive an extra $1000 in January. That puts us at about $10,000.
Can we raise another $10,000 in the next 2 weeks!? With your help, we think so! We're still working on some large gifts, but we want our base of support to be as broad as possible among the artists and poets whose work we carry and feature. That's why we're asking for $10/$25 and $50 donations from 200 poets and artists to help us meet our goal. If we meet the minimum $10 from 200, that would add an extra $2,000 to ensure this amazing space stays open to the public here in Colorado Springs. If 200 artists and poets can help us raise $2,000, we know other generous donors will see that broad support and step in and help us reach our goal.
Ten dollars? We're in! Click here to make a gift.
XOXO,
Harriet
