Twitter poems call attention to the crumbling state of Britain's infrastructure (and showcase cheeky humor):

Motorists have been channelling their anger over Britain's disintegrating roads into pothole poetry.

Website potholes.co.uk launched the competition, challenging drivers to highlight the poor condition of UK highways by submitting a 140-character poem on the topic via Twitter.

Three entries caught the judges' eyes with their witty rhymes - each winning an iPod Touch for their troubles.

Stuart Ellison-Smith, of Canterbury, Twittered the following entry: "When almost dusk & light turns grey, potholes greedily grasp their prey. Axles, tyres, paint are theirs, once you've trespassed in their lairs" . . .
