James Law Forsyth

1913—2005

Scottish playwright, poet, and screenwriter James Law Forsyth was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He served in the British Army during World War II and published several poems during his time at the Scots Guards training camp. Following the war, he became dramatist-in-residence for the Old Vic Theatre in London from 1946 to 1948. Known primarily as a dramatist, Forsyth wrote 25 plays, several in verse. In addition, he holds several credits as a screenwriter for British television programs.

Forsyth died in 2005 in England. He was 91 years old.
