Leaving
The storm came.
We had expected it
soon enough,
between our
love,
We had already felt
the tremor
of its warnings
(We were children, once.
We used to watch the raindrops rac
ing
down
our window
panes,
with laughter)
but we were children
in
two
different worlds, a part
And now this storm had come,
into,& between
the tenuousness of our bond,
And that became the very first time
that i needed
to be with you, truly
it was (
more than the wanting)
, the first time
that i needed your touch,
only
your touch . . .
But you walked out,
To meet the wind
& the rain
/ intotheStorm
without me.
