National Hafez Day in Iran
According to these posts from Tehran Times and Press TV, Iran is celebrating National Hafez Day on October 12th. The event is marked by an international poetry conference which runs October 7th-12th.

Shiraz is hosting a variety of programs in honor of Hafez as it is approaching Iran’s National Hafez Day on October 12.
A group of 150 Iranian artists gathered in Hafez’s Mausoleum on Friday to create their artworks of various form including inlaid works, as well as calligraphy and paintings. The artworks are put on show for one week at the mausoleum.
Also included is a seminar in which the role of Hafez in the Indian Subcontinent will be explored, secretary of the event Kavus Hasanli said here on Saturday.
The event will focus on affinities between Hafez and the National Poet of India Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary.
The seminar is cosponsored by the cultural office of the Embassy of India, the Council for Promotion of Persian Language and Literature, and South Asia and Indian Subcontinent Research Institute of the University of Sistan Baluchestan.
