Dear Editor,

Having read Joseph Epstein's rant in the September issue and checking "Contributors" to see who he was, I was not at all surprised to see that he had written pieces titled Snobbery: The American Version and Envy, both of which were amply exhibited in his prose piece. Poetry can certainly do better than this.
