I come from

I come from
Muas Nkauj Liag, northern lands unknown
From refugees with blistered feet
From sun-dried flower cloths
From stories that reflect a tigress heart
From mothers’ songs feeding generations to come

I come from
Black dragons shrouded in indigo
From salty rain dancing on thatch roofs
From mouths eating from one pot of porridge
From laughter that only knew sighing
From hands calloused by reasons of love
