Born in Los Angeles, Ále Campos (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist and performance maker whose elastic studio practice is anchored in the vernacular of drag and their persona, “Celeste.” Campos received a BA from Bennington College in 2016 and an MFA in Performance at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2022. 

Some of the places that have exhibited their work include Hyde Park Art Center, Comfort Station, Ruschwoman, Chicago Artists Coalition, Jude Gallery, Elastic Arts, SITE/less (Chicago, IL), Lane Meyer Projects (Denver, CO), Collar Works (Troy, NY), Kunsthalle Darmstadt (Germany), BMoCA (Boulder, CO), Pamplemousse Gallery (Richmond, VA), Public Space One (Iowa City, IA), Zach’s Crab Shack and FJORD(Philadelphia, PA). 

Campos was a BOLT artist-in-residence at the Chicago Artists’ Coalition in 2023 and 2024. They were named one of the ten New City Breakout Artists of Chicago in 2023.
