Fred Schmalz

Fred Schmalz is a Chicago-based poet and artist whose debut collection, Action in the Orchards (Nightboat, 2019), examines the ways language and sound infuse encounters with art and friends. He makes art with Susannah Bielak in the collaborative Balas & Wax.
