Kevin Anthony Brown
Kevin Anthony Brown is the author of Countée Cullen’s Harlem Renaissance: A Personal History (Parlor Press, 2024), an essay cycle themed around his maternal great-grandmother’s marriage to that poet. His articles, essays, interviews, and reviews on the literary arts, performing arts, the art of translation, and the visual arts have been published in Afterimage, The Brooklyn Rail, The Chattahoochee Review, Fiction International, The Georgia Review, The Nation, Rain Taxi, Salmagundi, The Threepenny Review, The Times Literary Supplement, and Washington Post Bookworld, among others. Brown was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He earned a BA from the City University of New York, where he double-majored in Spanish and document translation and technical interpreting (T&I), studying with translator Gregory Rabassa.
