Leanne Betasamosake Simpson is a Michi Saagiig Anishnaabeg scholar, a writer, and a musician. She is the author of seven books, including the novel Noopiming: A Cure for White Ladies (University of Minnesota Press, 2021), shortlisted for the Dublin Literary Prize and the Canadian Governor General’s Literary Award for fiction. Her latest album, Theory of Ice (You’ve Changed Records, 2021), was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize. She was the winner of the 2021 Prism Prize’s Willie Dunn Award. Her latest project, Rehearsals for Living (Haymarket Books, 2022), in collaboration with Robyn Maynard, was shortlisted for the Canadian Governor General’s Literary Award for nonfiction. Simpson is a member of the Alderville First Nation.
