Natalia Molebatsi (she/her) is a Pan-African, feminist poet, writer, organizer and teacher from South Africa. Molebatsi is the author of two poetry collections, Sardo Dance (Geko, 2009) and Elephant Woman Song (Forum, 2017). Her writing is included in among other journals, Scrutiny2, Agenda, Muziki, GLQ, the National Political Science Review, and Third World Thematics. She is the editor of two poetry anthologies, We Are: A Poetry Anthology (Penguin, 2011) and Wild Imperfections: An Anthology of Womanist Poems (Cassava Republic Press, 2021) which won the 2022 NIHSS award for best edited volume.
Molebatsi is a PhD candidate in performance studies at Northwestern University. She is the 2023 recipient of the Lilla A. Heston Award for Academic Excellence. Molebatsi holds an MA in performance studies from Northwestern University and an MA in communication science from the University of South Africa, where she is associated with the Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies.
