Letter from Poetry Magazine
Letter to the Editor
BY Mark Soifer
Dear Editor,
I have been a subscriber to Poetry for over forty years. Your October issue was miserable. One half of the magazine taken up by a dull, unfathomable poem. The second half featuring writers carping about poets who have stood the test of time. Print more poetry. I'll decide which poets please me. I don't need your help or the help of critics who specialize in long, obscure, self-serving sentences.
