Letter from Poetry Magazine
Letter to the Editor
BY Marie Johnson
Dear Editor,
I will NOT renew my subscription, despite the fact that the review section in Poetry is fairly lucid. The poems that were published in your last issue [June 2008] were the worst yet. Our tastes are evidently not compatible. I am a poet, and most of my friends in the Poetry Society of Oklahoma agree that the selections in Poetry have deteriorated in the past few years. I think Harriet Monroe would be quite embarrassed if she read them. How did you ever find that many poets who write such trash?
