“in another time”
in another time
I launch a riverboat
so light, it rages up
Raisinjoki as a god
primeval river where the stone lies
just below the current
and I’m so light
and so’s the boat
we have always done this, in the shallows
we were made for this alone
Translated from the Norwegian and the Kven
Notes:
Read the original poem in in a combination of Norwegian and Kven, “i en annen tid,” as well as the translator’s note by Eirill Alvilde Falck.
