Akram Alkatreb

Akram Alkatreb is a Syrian poet, journalist, and writer residing in New Jersey. He has worked as an art critic and journalist since 1996 and has contributed to major Arabic publications including As-Safir, Al-Hayat, Al-Mustaqbal, An-Nahar, and Al-Quds Al-Arabi. Alkatreb has published six poetry collections in Arabic and one in Spanish. 

Alkatreb participated in many poetry festivals in the United States and around the world. He is a leading figure in what critics have called the “new wave” of Syrian poetry. He attended the University of Damascus and graduated with a degree in law.
