Alec Brock Stevenson
1895—1969
Born in 1895, poet Alec Brock Stevenson was a member of the Fugitive literary group while a student at Vanderbilt University. The Fugitive, a poetry magazine published from 1922 to 1925, included the work of such poets as Randall Jarrell, Allen Tate, John Crowe Ransom, and Robert Penn Warren.
Stevenson was also a member of the Vanderbilt Board of Trust, a writer for the Nashville Banner newspaper, and an investment banker. He died in 1969.
