Bill Christophersen
Poet and critic Bill Christophersen is the author of the poetry collections Why the God's Don't Get It (Kelsay Books, 2021), Where Truth Lies (2020), Tableau with Crash Helmet (2018), The Dicer’s Cup (2017), and Two Men Fighting in a Landscape (2015). His poems have been published in Rattle, RHINO, New Letters, Hanging Loose, and Poetry magazine. A frequent book reviewer, his criticism has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Poetry, and Newsweek. He is the author of the literary studies The Apparition in the Glass: Charles Brockden Brown’s American Gothic (1993) and Resurrecting Leather-Stocking: Pathfinding in Jacksonian America (2019).
Christophersen lives in New York and has taught at Fordham University. A traditional fiddle player, he has played with the Manhattan Valley Ramblers, the Fly-by-Night String Band, the Lazy Aces String Band, and the Mysterious Redbirds. His solo fiddle albums include Making Tracks While I Can (2021) and Hell & High Water (2008).
